Miss Shirley's--Annapolis

Miss Shirley's--Annapolis

I have heard nothing, but the best things about Miss Shirley's. Famous for its long wait times, and early food goers, nothing but praises has been sung for Miss Shirley's. So it only made sense that after an open bar Saturday night wedding, this would be my first stop on the Sunday morning recovery train.

Located right next to my hotel, it was a pretty easy decision.

I decided to start off with water, coffee, and a Blackberry Peach Tea Crush ( yes, this is an alcoholic drink). Honestly, this drink was super bland. No hint of sweetness, and I personally don't care for overly sweet drinks. But this tasted like a watered down ice tea, in my opinion.

I decided to order one of the Miss Shirley's favorites: the Crab Cake & Fried Green Tomatoes Benedict. Two of my favorite foods put together into one dish. Since, Miss Shirley's Cafe was started in Baltimore, I had high hopes for the crab cakes. The presentation and service was impeccable, but the food was underwhelming to say the least.

The crab cakes were kind of dry, and lacked flavor, and the green tomatoes were not completely done, and just weren't on par with what I was expecting.

For the price point, you would think the food would be A-1, but only the service deserved the A+. Would I be going again? Probably not. It was literally ok, for the $60 I spent.
